BAILEY JOHNSON GRIFFIN age 85, of 11827 Virgilina Road, Roxboro, NC died Tuesday morning, September 13, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Griffin was born May 9, 1931 in Brunswick County, VA to the late Charles Gustavis & Sallie Bett Tuck Griffin and was husband of 65 years to Ruth Seate Griffin who survives. He was retired from Collins & Aikman Corp. after 40 years of service, was a member of High View Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army where he served during the Korean conflict.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Joan G. Day & husband, Al of Roxboro, NC, Betty G. Morris & husband, Ronald of Virgilina, VA, Cindy G. Russell & husband, Dannie of Timberlake, NC, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Griffin is preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and a grandson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at High View Baptist Church by the Rev. Avery Dalton and the Rev. Norman Talley.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:30 till 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Strickland and Jones Memorial Funeral Services and other times at the home.    

Pallbearers will be Al Day, Mike Day, Wayne Day, Travis Ingram, Adam Morris, Ronald Morris, Dannie Russell and Lance Russell.  James Glasscock, Bobby Griffin, Maurice Griffin, Ricky Griffin, Al Seate, Larry Seate, Casey Tuck and Timmy Tuck will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the High View Baptist Church Building Fund, 144 High View Church Road, Roxboro, NC 27574.
