DANNY THAXTON POOLE age 65, of 1032 Morton Pulliam Road, Roxboro, NC died Thursday night, September 8, 2016 at Duke University Hospital.

Mr. Poole was born December 4, 1950 in Person County, NC to the late George Thomas Poole & Edna West Poole Carr. He was a heavy equipment operator for First Piedmont and was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Tabatha P. McNabb & husband, Richard of Gainsville, GA, two sons, Travis Poole of Salem, OR, Danny Brian Poole of Clayton, GA, two brothers, Wayne Poole, Herbert Poole, sister, Brenda P. Snead, companion, Ann Green, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Poole is preceded in death by two brothers, James Poole, William “Bill” Poole and three sisters, Peggy P. Rudd, Patsy Ann Poole and Ivy Lou Poole.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in the Theresa Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Herbert Brown.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2016 at Strickland and Jones Memorial Funeral Services prior to the service and other times at the home of Brenda Snead, 3010 Denny’s Store Road, Roxboro.    

Pallbearers will be H.R. Carver, Roy Carver, Caleb Compton, Stacey Compton, Gerald Long and Kevin Snead.
