Jane Elizabeth (Towery) Gentry

Jane Towery Gentry, 72, of Roxboro, North Carolina went to her heavenly home on Wednesday morning, April 17, 2024.  She was born July 12, 1951 to the late Thomas Roland and Edna Jarrell Towery of Chase City, Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin “Frankie” Gentry, brother, Wayne Towery, sisters, Betty Jo Jackson, and Mary Alice Pulley, brother-in-law, Neal Jackson, sisters-in law, Pat Towery, Trilvie Towery, Dianne Gentry Beaty, and nephew, Stephen “Bo-Bo” Dickerson.

Jane is survived by her sons, Andy Newcomb (Julie) of Greensboro, NC, Robbie Gentry (Elizabeth) of Roxboro, NC, grandchildren, Liv Newcomb, Lorene Gentry, Bristol Teague, and Grace Gentry, brother, Gerald Towery (Linda), sister-in-law, Brenda Whitt, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Jane worked at GKN for 21 years until her retirement in 2013.  She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her most prized possessions, her grandchildren, and grand dogs.  She also enjoyed cooking, entertaining, attending church, shopping, country music, and trips to the beach.

The family will receive friends and guests from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm Friday, April 19, 2024 at Antioch Baptist Church (677 Antioch Church Road, Timberlake, NC}, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life service with Dr. M. David Chambers officiating.  All other gatherings will be held at the home of Robbie and Elizabeth Gentry, 2526 Chub Lake Road, Roxboro, NC.
