ANN BROOKS RIMMINGTON, age 87, of 420 Estate Road, Semora, NC died Wednesday morning, January 2, 2019 at Person Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Rimmington was born July 20, 1931 in Person County, NC daughter of the late Thomas Carlyle & Helen Williamson Wharton Brooks and was wife of 63 years to John Brinton Rimmington who survives. She was a homemaker but also previously was a teacher’s assistant at the Kiddie Country Preschool in Burke, VA and was a member of Roxboro Presbyterian Church. Ann enjoyed painting, reading, and most of all spending time with her family who say that she had a very keen sense of humor.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two children, Joanne R. Sedelmeyer & husband, Jerome of Semora, NC, Michael John Rimmington & wife, Lisa of Alexandria, VA, four grandchildren, Christopher Sedelmeyer & wife, Abbie, Matthew Sedelmeyer, Jonathan Rimmington, Alex Rimmington, sister, Rachel Coley & husband Dr. Silas Coley of Chapel Hill, NC, and brother, T.C. Brooks & wife, Krisztina of Edina, MN.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Roxboro Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Evan Walker, Jerome Sedelmeyer, and Michael Rimmington officiating. The family will receive friends and guests immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of Jerome and Joanne Sedelmeyer, 1570 Zion Level Church Road, Semora, NC. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
