Doris Christine (Marston) Stephens

DORIS CHRISTINE MARSTON STEPHENS age 92, of 901 Ridge Road, Roxboro, NC died Thursday afternoon, August 9, 2018 at Roxboro Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Stephens was born October 26, 1925 in Charlotte County, VA daughter of the late John Albert & Marie Gordon Palmer Marston and was wife of nearly 70 years to the late John Joseph Stephens.  She was a homemaker and a member of Longhurst United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Katherine Joe “Kat” Stephens of Roxboro, NC, sister, Joyce Garrett of Warrenton, NC, two brothers, Kenneth Marston, Reed Marston & wife Nancy all of Roxboro, NC, three granddaughters, Tammy Wall & husband, Jeremy, Tina Midkiff & husband, Bran, Tracy Clark & husband, Charlie, eight great grandchildren, David Clark, Emily Midkiff Hudson, Stephen Wall, Benjamin Clark, Hannah Clark, Ashley Clark, Annah Wall, Arron Clark, and son-in-law, Alvah Lee Morris.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Stephens is preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Stephens Morris, sister, Eunice M. Ashley, three brothers, Garnett Marston, Haywood Marston, Morris Marston, and granddaughter, Angel Leigh Morris.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 in the Strickland and Jones Memorial Funeral Services Chapel with the Pastor Frankie Reaves officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in the Burchwood Cemetery.           

Pallbearers will be Scott Burton, Benjamin Clark, Charlie Clark, David Clark, Randy Garrett, Bran Midkiff, Jeremy Wall, and Stephen Wall.
