Barbara Priscilla (Evans) Brandon

BARBARA EVANS BRANDON age 82, of 218 Windsor Drive, Roxboro, NC died Saturday afternoon, May 1, 2021 at Person Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Brandon was born September 20, 1938 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late James Monroe & Gladys Ruth Wilkins Evans and was wife of 42 years to the late Tony Morgan Brandon. She was retired from Person Memorial Hospital after more than 50 years of service as a nurse and director of nursing and was a member of Ca-vel Baptist Church.  Barbara enjoyed needle point, antique’s, horseback riding, fishing, her flowers, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Christie B. Vaughan & husband, Connie of Roxboro, NC, Amanda B. Hamilton & husband, Ray of New Tazewell, TN, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and sister, Mildred E. McBroom.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brandon is preceded in death by a sister, Lois Jane Evans Dunn.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2021 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home on Monday & Tuesday from 4:00 till 7:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Michael Childress, Ronald Powell, Jr., Michael Scott, Cade Vaughan, Coleson Vaughan, and C.J. Vaughan.
