Obituary
BARBARA JEAN POWELL DICKERSON, age 80, formerly of 2821 Lucy Garrett Road, Timberlake, NC died Tuesday morning, February 21, 2023 at Person Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Dickerson was born May 28, 1942 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Willie Matchem & Lois Gunter Powell and was wife of 61 years to the late William Henry Dickerson. She was retired from Dialight Corp. after 25 years of service and was of the Baptist faith.
Barbara enjoyed working her flower gardens, cooking, crafting, going to yard sales, reading, watching birds, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are two children, Jeffrey Dickerson & wife, Renee, Jeanne D. Tate & husband, Campbell, two grandchildren, Chris Dickerson & wife, Tara, Lindsay Foushee & husband, Matthew, three great grandchildren, Conner Dickerson, Collin Dickerson, Madison Milam, two sisters, Mary Clayton, Brenda Holmes, and brother Toby Powell.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dickerson is preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Ward, and brother, Tony Powell.
Celebration of Life services will be conducted at a later date.
