Charles Joseph Adams

CHARLES JOSEPH ADAMS age 93, of 77 Beaver Creek Parkway, Roxboro, NC died Thursday afternoon, March 2, 2023 at Duke University Hospital.

Mr. Adams was born May 20, 1929 in Limestone County, AL, son of the late Edward Joseph & Bessie Louise Webster Adams, and was husband of 62 years to the late Genene Turner Adams.  He was a retired salesman from the silk flower business, was a member of Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the US Army where he was a sergeant serving in the Korean Conflict.

Charles enjoyed fishing, gardening, mowing his lawn, serving his church, spending time with his family, and was an avid Alabama fan.

Surviving are three children, Derek Adams & wife, Linda, Brandon J. Adams, Kristie A. Fox & husband, Gary, five grandchildren, Christopher Heath Adams & wife, Laura, Jessica Lynn Adams (Luke), Kevin Joseph Adams, Aaron Michael Adams, August Renee Long & husband, T.J., four great grandchildren, Hunter Grant Adams, Kelsey Genene Adams, Brooklyn Caroline Adams, Elowyn Grace Walker, two sisters, Magdelene Miller & husband, Robert, Linda Parsons, and brother, Bobby Adams & wife, Carol.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Adams is preceded in death by a son, Kevin Greene Adams, sisters, Betty Miller, Dezzie Stewart, and brothers, Greney Adams, Joe Adams, and Horace Dwayne Adams.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2023 at Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Thomas officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. 

Pallbearers will be Aaron Adams, Chris Adams, Hunter Adams, Kevin Adams, T.J. Long, and Ronnie Smith.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Eddie Perkins Sunday School Class.
