Clara Snead (Guill) Rose

CLARA SNEAD GUILL ROSE, age 94, of 11 Burgess Court, Hillsborough, NC and formerly of 215 John Street, Roxboro, NC passed away peacefully Wednesday night, November 15, 2023 at Duke University Hospital.

Mrs. Rose was born June 15, 1929 in Halifax County, VA, daughter of the late Samuel & Ola Loftis Guill and was wife of the late Raymond Keith Rose.  She was retired from Loxcreen Corp. after more than 20 years of service and was a member of Grace/Cavel Church. 

Clara enjoyed shopping, and spending time with her friends at Bojangles.

Surviving are three grandchildren, Colon R. “Coby” Bowen, III & wife, Lori, Jennifer Leigh McCann & husband, Ryan, James W. Jones, III & wife, Tisha, sons-in-law, James W. Jones, Jr., Colon R. “Sonny” Bowen, Jr., and two great grandchildren, Dylan Harris, Lori Beth Harris, and a host of nieces & nephews. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Rose is preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Rose “Becky” Jones, son Samuel Keith “Sammy” Rose, sisters, Janie Sharp, Mildred Owens, Louise Guill, brothers, Harry Guill, Benard Guill, Frank Guill, and Everett Guill. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2023 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Patrick Sinclair officiating.  Interment will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Allen, Kevin Cole, Tony Cole, Dylan Harris, Mike Hay, Jr., and Andy Riley.
