Elva Estus (Stevens) Ferguson

ELVA STEVENS FERGUSON, age 81, of 1211 Dover Street, Roxboro, NC died Tuesday morning, January 19, 2021 at Treyburn Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Ferguson was born March 12, 1939 in Summers County, WV, daughter of the late Alvon & Margaret Newcomb Stevens and was wife of 62 years to Oren William “Bill” Ferguson who survives.  She was a homemaker and a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church. 

Surviving in addition to her husband are two children, Vivian F. Keesling (Gary), Oren Stevens Ferguson (Judy Harris) all of Roxboro, NC, four grandchildren, Oren Matthew Ferguson (Shelley), Aaron G. Ferguson (Ashley), Laura Adams (Chris), Joshua Wilbourn (Jessica), eleven great grandchildren, two sisters, Audrey Forren, June Morton (Jennings), three brothers, Earl Stevens, Ray Stevens (Donnette), and Al Stevens (Marlene). 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2021 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Chad Benefield and the Rev. Randy Howard officiating.  Interment will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville, WV at a later date.  Those wishing to pay their respects may do so between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 21, at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services.  

Pallbearers will be Hunter Adams, Aaron Ferguson, Matthew Ferguson, Joel Stevens, Justin Stevens, and Joshua Wilbourn.  

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Beginnings Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3192, Roxboro, NC 27573.
