Faydene Yancey Talley

FAYDENE YANCEY TALLEY 82, of 121 Arrowhead Trail, Rougemont, NC 27572, died Wednesday afternoon, February 27, 2020 at Duke Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Talley was born October 7, 1937 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Robert S. Yancey and Mollie Eakes Yancey and was wife of 48 years to the late Robert Edward Talley. Faydene was retired from the Person County Finance office, and was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, where she served on the Finance Committee. Faydene enjoyed singing in the church choir, playing board games, and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are a daughter, Tracie Thorson and husband, Eric of Pacific Palisades, CA, two grandchildren, Sarah Thorson of Washington, D.C.,  Matthew Thorson & wife, Laura of San Francisco, CA, and great grandson, Luke Thorson.

In addition to her father, mother, and husband, Mrs. Talley is preceded in death by a son, Terry Lynn Talley, and sister, Hazelene Yancey Thomas.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, with Pastor Barry Chambers officiating. The family will receive friends and guests beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Blalock, Trent Cothran, Jay Jennings, Brent Mangum, James Mangum, Larry Oakley, Scott Sides, Jimmy Thomas, and Pete Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church - Elevator Fund, 1655 Mt. Harmony Church Road, Rougemont, NC 27572.
