Gerre "Mimi" (Fairchild) Simpson

GERRE “MIMI” FAIRCHILD SIMPSON, age 74, of 1965 Blalock Dairy Road, Roxboro, NC died Tuesday morning, November 15, 2022 at her home.

Mrs. Simpson was born March 1, 1948 in Broome County, NY, daughter of the late Kenneth Lawrence & Margaret Mary Gerken Fairchild and was wife of 42 years to the late Hine Simpson, Jr.  She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Mimi enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, playing Facebook games, animals, everyone’s kids, and all of her extended family.

Surviving are three daughters, Staci Daughrity, Robin Daughrity Hatcher & husband, Mike, Kelly Clayton & husband, Keith all of Roxboro, NC, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, sister, Sandra Bayman & husband, Donald, and brother, Guy Fairchild & wife, Rene.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Simpson is preceded in death by a son, Kristopher Damien Simpson, daughter, Cindy Gail Oakley, three granddaughters, Kaitlyn Shepherd, Makayla Leighanne Oakley, Mary Elizabeth Banks, three sisters, and two brothers.

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2022 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Ann Benson officiating.
