Ginger Yancey Groover

GINGER YANCEY GROOVER, age 62, of Carolina Shores, NC passed away Monday, April 22, 2024 at SECU Hospice House in Bolivia, NC. 

Mrs. Groover was born June 8, 1961 in Halifax County, VA, daughter of the late Rufus Anderson Yancey & Georgia Brann Smith Yancey and was wife of Richard Groover who survives.  She had many jobs throughout her life, her all-time favorite was taking care of children, all of whom she loved, and was a member of Beach Assembly of God Church in Ocean Isle, NC.

Ginger was raised on a tobacco farm where she learned all about hard work.  She loved her beach life!  She enjoyed fishing, going on cruises with her sisters, and spending time with family and friends.   

Surviving in addition to her husband are four children, Dexter Snow & wife, Haley, Cody Snow, Jacob Groover & wife, Emily, Jennifer Massey & husband, Nathan, nine grandchildren, Alexsis, Raylan, Jamison, Amaris, Garris, Ava, Nathan Cade, Jaycie, and Everley, two sisters, Gail West & husband, Bob, Yvette Rice & husband, Wendell, brother, Andy Yancey, and a host of nieces & nephews.

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Florence Avenue Baptist Church with food and fellowship to follow, 9629 Highway 96 North, Oxford, NC 27565 with the Rev. Herbert Brown, and Nathan Massey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to My Life Matters, 80 Danwin Lane, Roxboro, NC 27573.
