Hine Simpson, Jr.

HINE SIMPSON, JR. age 78, of 1965 Blalock Dairy Road, Roxboro, NC died Sunday afternoon, January 10, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Simpson was born October 27, 1942 in Cuyahoga County, OH, son of the late Hine Simpson, Sr. & the late Evelyn Louise Evans Simpson and was husband of 42 years to Geraldine Helen Fairchild Simpson who survives. He worked as a black topper in the family business and was a veteran of the US Army.  Hine enjoyed crocheting, making dream catchers, ceramics, doing mechanic work, and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife five children, Evelyn S. Stanley & husband, Eddie of MD, Staci Renee Daughrity, Robin Daughrity & husband, Michael Hatcher all of Roxboro, NC, Edward Jack “Ted” Simpson & wife, Kelly of Acton, CA, Kelly Clayton & husband, Keith of Roxboro, NC, eight grandchildren, Krista S. Knight & husband, Michael, Brandon Cook, Sammantha Banks, Ryan Simpson, Victoria Banks, Mackenzie Simpson, Gage Moore, Shannan Talley, four great grandchildren, Isabella G. Solomon, Aaron Knight, Bransyn O. Dunn, Memphis W. Wood, niece, Desiree M. Simpson, and sister-in-law, Nellie Simpson. 

In addition to his parents Mr. Simpson is preceded in death by three children, Hine Simpson, III, Kristopher Simpson, Cindy G. Oakley, three granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth Moore, Kaitlyn Anne Shepherd, Makayla LeAnne Oakley, and brother, Jack Simpson.  

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Ann Benson officiating.
