James Joe Duncan

JAMES JOE DUNCAN, age 78, of 1270 John D. Winstead Road, Roxboro, NC died Thursday afternoon, April 7,2022 at his home.

Mr. Duncan was born April 21, 1943 in Person County, NC, son of the late James George & Elizabeth Mariah Regan Duncan and was husband of 55 years to the late Kattie Mae Brown Duncan. He was retired as a self-employed painter and was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church.

Joe enjoyed fishing and dancing in his younger years and most recently enjoyed going out to breakfast so he could socialize, and walking his dogs. 

Surviving are two sons, Bradley Lee Duncan, Sr. & wife Brenda, Kevin James Duncan & wife, Clara all of Roxboro, NC, two grandchildren, Bradley Lee Duncan, Jr., Christina Lee Duncan, seven great grandchildren, Aiden Tyler Duncan, Shyann Morris, Emanuel Brooks, Emily Duncan, Jayson Duncan, Alanna Yeats, John Tyler Yeats, sister, Peggy Duncan Stone, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mrs. Duncan is preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Wayne Duncan, infant brother, Kendall Rodney Duncan, and two sisters, Nellie Sue Duncan Millhouse, and Rosa Mae Duncan Lewis. 

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Daniel Pantoja and the Rev. Steve Whitt officiating.
