Kathleen Ann (Blalock) Whitfield

KATHLEEN ANN BLALOCK WHITFIELD, age 74, of 296 Patterson Drive, Roxboro, NC passed away Friday afternoon, September 8, 2023 at Roxboro Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Whitfield was born January 11, 1949 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late James Henry & Mira Katherine Murray Blalock and was wife of 37 years to the late Grover Alvah “Pee Wee” Whitfield, Jr.  She was retired from Eno Point Assisted Living and was of the Baptist faith.

Kathleen enjoyed trips to the beach and mountains, spending time with her family and spoiling her grandkids.

Surviving are two daughters, Suzy W. Shepherd & husband, Curtis, Kelli W. Emore, three grandchildren, J.T. Whitlow & wife, Keeley, Justin Whitlow, Krista Knight & husband, Mike, two great grandchildren, Isabella Solomon, A.J. Knight, sister, Beverly B. Hargis, brother, James “Jimmy” Blalock, sisters-in-law, Debbie Sue Clayton & husband, Tim, Becky Rudd, and treasured friend and neighbor, Rebecca Mooney.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Whitfield is preceded in death by three granddaughters, Skyler Maeann Emore, Dakota Leann Shepherd, Kaitlyn Anne Shepherd, and brother-in-law, Terry Hargis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2023 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with Dr. M. David Chambers and Chaplin Kim Keifer officiating.  Interment will be at a later date in the Blalock-Aiken Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2023 at the funeral home and other times at the home of Suzy & Curtis Shepherd, 30 Crystal Ridge Drive, Timberlake, NC.
