"L.V." Louie Vernon Coggins Rudd, Sr.

LOUIE “L.V.” VERNON COGGINS RUDD, SR. age 84, of 63 Gwinn Road, Roxboro, NC died Sunday morning, June 20, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Rudd was born July 28, 1936 in Caswell County, NC, son of the late William Grover & Lessie Holesomback Rudd and was husband of the late Peggy Jo Poole Rudd. He was retired from North American Aerodynamics.  L.V. enjoyed going to yard sales, gardening, and working on old sewing machines and clocks.

Surviving are three grandchildren, Michael C. Rudd & wife, Faye, Michelle R. Morris, Bridget R. Long & husband, Bryan, seven great grandchildren, Emily Rudd, Nathan Morris, Courtney Long, Colton Rudd, Alyssa Long, Jessie Long, Logan Morris, companion, Anne Lloyd, special niece, Jeanette Tate, and a host of other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Rudd is preceded in death by two sons, Linwood Thomas Rudd, Louie Vernon “Buddy” Rudd, Jr., four brothers, Coolidge Rudd, Grover Rudd, Herbert Rudd, Dewey Rudd, three sisters, Mollie Reaves, Esther Tate, and Louise Rudd.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating.  Interment will follow in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2021 at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Tim Clayton, Hughes Hawkins, Brandon Medlin, Tommy Morris, Ricky Seamons, and Alex Sierra.  Honorary pallbearer will be Pete Clayton.
