Larry Poole

JAMES LARRY POOLE age 74, of 6095 Catalina Drive, Unit 1416, North Myrtle Beach, SC died Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Grand Strand Medical Center.

Mr. Poole was born August 26, 1948 in Durham County, NC, son of the late James Franklin Poole & Margaret Alice Breeze Loftis who survives and was husband of 26 years to Julia Grey Hicks Poole who also survives.  Upon retirement from IBM, he worked for Sykes Enterprises and Judge Inc., was a Mason, was of the Baptist faith, and was a veteran of the US Army.

Larry was an avid golfer and enjoyed country music, watching sports, NASCAR, the History Channel, and Pawn Stars on television.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two daughters, Kristi P. Bidwell of Cary, NC, Jamie P. Turlington & husband, Ryan of Greensboro, NC, four grandchildren, Kallie & Kennedy Turlington, Jessica & Logan Bidwell, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and guests Monday, January 2, 2023 from 1:00 till 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Doris & Ray Gentry, 1247 Buck Street Road, Roxboro, NC.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January, 2, 2023 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating.  Interment will follow in the Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Ray Gentry, Charles Hicks, C.T. Hicks, Steven McKinney, Kennan Solomon, and Ryan Turlington.
