Maggie Bell (Dixon) Long

MAGGIE BELL DIXON LONG, age 85, of 732 Cavel-Chub Lake Road, Roxboro, NC passed away Wednesday night, November 1, 2023 at Duke Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Long was born April 26, 1938 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Marion Francis & Pearl Mae Averette Dixon and was wife of 62 years to the late Corkey Lee Long.  She was retired from Crown Craft, Inc. and was a member of Theresa Baptist Church. 

Maggie enjoyed eating with her friends at Bojangles, visiting with people, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn L. Fuller & husband, Danny of Roxboro, NC, granddaughter, Shannon C. Lawson & husband, Chad of Semora, NC, two great grandchildren, Jaxon Lawson and Jordyn Lawson, and a host of nieces & nephews. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Long is preceded in death by five sisters, Francis Chambers, Hazel Shuskey, Margaret Rudd, Wilma Shotwell, Nannie Paul, two brothers, Coolidge Dixon, and Charlie Dixon. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Theresa Baptist Church with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating.  Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Carolyn & Danny Fuller, 115 Chub Lake Loop Road, Roxboro, NC.

Pallbearers will be Dayton Evans, Scott Evans, Scott Ford, Chad Lawson, Jaxon Lawson, and Vance Long.
