Maggie (Walker) Robertson

MAGGIE WALKER ROBERTSON, age 91, a resident of the Cantebury House and formerly of 95 Mt. View Road, Roxboro, NC died Thursday morning, August 6, 2020.

Mrs. Robertson was born May 31, 1929 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late David William & Sallie Sue Bowes Walker and was wife of 32 years to the late Bedford Monroe Robertson. She was retired from Eaton Corporation after 28 years of service and was of the Primitive Baptist Faith.

Maggie enjoyed gardening, farming, dancing, and working in the yard.

Surviving are a sister, Lois W. Wrenn, brother, Johnnie W. Walker & wife, Mae, sister-in-law, Betty Walker, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Robertson is preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Robertson, Rebecca Wade, and two brothers, Clyde Walker, and Billie Walker.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with Elder David Minter officiating. Interment will follow in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests for one prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Lois Wrenn, 1256 Cavel-Chub Lake Road, Roxboro, NC.

Pallbearers will be David Craven, Dempsey Dunn, Jr., Ethan Dunn, Lucas Dunn, Nathan Dunn, and Joseph Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Craven, Eric Craven, Hilton Hawkins, Faye Shelton, Elsie Suitt, Scott Wade and Keith Wrenn.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to Surl Primitive Baptist Church c/o Dorothy R. Clayton, 215 Charlie Moore Road, Timberlake, NC 27583.
