"Ouchie" Samuel Malcus Carver

SAMUEL MALCUS “OUCHIE” CARVER, age 89, of 222 Clayton Ave., Roxboro, NC died peacefully Sunday morning, May 1, 2022 at his home.

Mr. Carver was born December 31, 1932 in Person County, NC, son of the late Roby Flem & Lessie Vennie Clayton Carver and was husband of 67 years to the late Suzanne Stone Carver. He retired from Bodie-Noell Enterprises after 20 years of service, worked for Roxboro Plumbing for 22 years, and also retired from Roxboro Stor-N-Lock after 18 years.  He was a member of Roxboro Baptist Church where he was known for his heartfelt prayers, was a founding member of Mountain Road Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the US Army where he served in the Korean Conflict.

Ouchie enjoyed driving racecars, being outside, working his vegetable garden, working in the yard, and spending time with his family and visitors.

Surviving are two children, Kelly M. Carver & wife, Vickie, Samantha C. Emmert & husband, Curt, six grandchildren, Kelly Carver Jones, (Josh), Scott Carver, (Lindsay), Blake Emmert, (Haley), Courtney Emmert, (Chris), Ashlyn Emmert, Savannah Emmert, seven great grandchildren, Finley Carver, Pike Carver, Nathan Jones, Briley Emmert, Evelyn Emmert, Abigail Emmert, Hayzel Emmert, brother, Richard Carver, and sister, Lorene C. Eggleston.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Carver is preceded in death by a brother, Robert M. Carver, and two sisters, Elma C. Clayton, and Cornell C. Clayton.

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Roxboro Baptist Church with Dr. DuPre Sanders officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests from 10:00 till 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church and on Thursday and Friday at the home.
