Pearl Augusta (Hicks) Ferrell

PEARL HICKS FERRELL, age 96, formerly of 968 Hugh Woods Road, Roxboro, NC died Sunday evening, February 21, 2021 at Roxboro Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Ferrell was born October 22, 1924 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Mack H. & Lottie Long Hicks and was wife of the late L. Mack Ferrell.  She was a homemaker and was a lifelong member of Rock Grove Baptist Church where she taught the Adult Ladies Sunday School class and sang in the choir for many years.  Mrs. Ferrell enjoyed cooking, sewing, her church, and spending time with her family. 

Surviving are a daughter, Dana F. Thompson & husband, Jerry of Roxboro, NC, two grandsons, Matthew Thompson & wife, Heather, Joshua Thompson, two great grandchildren, Lily Thompson, Piper Thompson, and a host of nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Ferrell is preceded in death by a sister, Annie H. Ashley, three brothers, Melgum Hicks, Hubert Hicks, Bill Hicks, two sisters-in-law, Lib Hicks, and Bailey Hicks.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in the Rock Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Pulliam officiating.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so Wednesday, February 24, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services.
