Polly Ann (Powell) Long

POLLY ANN POWELL LONG, age 74, of 87 Graham Day Road, Roxboro, NC passed away peacefully Monday night, October 30, 2023 at Person Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Long was born September 8, 1949 in Halifax County, VA, daughter of the late John Henry “J.H.” & Dolly Florene Conner Powell and was wife of 53 years to Tennie Lee Long who survives.  She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Polly was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her soaps, The Young & The Restless and The Bold & The Beautiful.  She absolutely loved her dog Buddy, who spent 16 years with her before his passing.  She had a loud laugh and was unafraid to tell you what she thought.  She loved to joke and be playful with everyone.  She treated everyone’s kids as her own and never met a stranger.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two granddaughters, Sharon Lee Long & husband, Christopher Jeffcoat, Tiffany Grayson Long, and brother, Gordon Albert Powell & wife, Frances all of Roxboro, NC.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Long is preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Lee “Buzz” Long. 

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the home.
