Rachel Daphine (Allen) Hornbuckle

RACHEL DAPHINE ALLEN HORNBUCKLE, age 82, of 805 Medford Oakley Road, Rougemont, NC died Saturday evening, January 8, 2022 at Maria Parham Health Hospital.

Mrs. Hornbuckle was born January 5, 1940 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Samuel Henry & Millie Lee Oakley Allen and was wife of 59 years to the late James “Jimmy” Samuel Hornbuckle Jr. She was a farmer, homemaker, and was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.

Surviving are three children, David Hornbuckle, Curtis Hornbuckle & wife, Suzanne, and Betsy H. Bowes & husband, Haywood all of Rougemont, NC. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hornbuckle is preceded in death by a brother, Horace Douglas Allen.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022 in the old sanctuary of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service in the old sanctuary of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church and other times at the home. The family has requested that no food be brought to the home.

Pallbearers will be Jason Duncan, James Mangum, Phillip Reaves, Scott Sides, Timmy Thomas, and Bruce Whitfield.
