Ray Spencer Holt

RAY SPENCER HOLT, age 84, of 1409 Ralapen Street, Roxboro, NC, died Tuesday morning, January 12, 2021 at the VA Medical Center.

Mr. Holt was born June 9, 1936 in Person County, NC, son of the late Samuel Bryant & Mary Lera Dixon Holt.  He was retired as a self-employed painter, was a member of Longhurst United Methodist Church, and a veteran of the US Army.  Ray enjoyed golf, dancing, and collecting coins. 

Surviving are two sisters, Lois H. Huff, Mae H. Briggs both of Roxboro, NC, three nephews, Gary Briggs of Suffolk, VA, Sammy Lowery, and Kenneth Huff both of Roxboro, NC.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Holt is preceded in death by a sister, Ramona Holt Lowery.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021 in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Amanda Dixson officiating.  Those wishing to pay respects may do so Thursday, January 14, from 11:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Longhurst United Methodist Church Building Fund, 265 Providence Road, Roxboro, NC 27573.
