Ricky Doyle Wilson

RICKY DOYLE WILSON age 61, of 462 Tom Webb Road, Roxboro, NC passed away Wednesday morning, May 10, 2023 at the home of his father.

Mr. Wilson was born October 28, 1961 in Person County, NC, son of Doyle Thatcher Wilson who survives and the late Lola Jean Reaves Wilson and was husband of 38 years to Tonya Kaye Ragans Wilson who also survives.  He was owner/operator of D&J Upholstery and Furniture and was of the Baptist faith.

Ricky enjoyed buying furniture, working, hunting, trips to the mountains, and spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his wife and father are two sons, Travis Wilson, Trent Wilson & wife, Melissa, granddaughter, Gracelyn Paige Wilson, two sisters, Norma Walker & husband, Dean, and Lynn Bowes & husband, Allen.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. John Pritchard officiating.  Interment will follow in the Burchwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023 at the funeral home and other times at the home of Doyle Wilson, 2025 Mill Creek Road, Roxboro, NC.  

Pallbearers will be Howard Eastwood, Ricky Gammon, Glenn Glasscock, Brent Talley, Randall Thompson, and Timmy Tuck.  Ed Lee and Tom Wensel will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to Oak Grove Church of Roxboro Fellowship Hall c/o Rose Wilkerson, 222 Fairway Drive, Roxboro, NC 27574.
