Rockie Stuart Obituary

ROCKIE CLAYTON STUART, age 24, of 588 City Lake Road, Roxboro, died peacefully at home on Thursday, November 24, 2022. Born in Conyers, GA, October 27, 1998, Rockie was the son of Delores C. Stuart of Roxboro and Bruce R. Stuart of Conyers, GA.

He is also survived by two brothers, Johnathan Stuart of Roxboro, Christopher Stuart and wife, Erin and nephew Maverick, of Morehead City, NC, maternal grandmother Christine Clayton of Roxboro, and a host of aunts, uncles’ cousins and friends. Rockie was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Willie Clayton of Roxboro, paternal grandparents, John Stuart of New Jersey and Nancy Stuart of Conyers, GA.

Our sweet angel, Rockie is now at the feet of Jesus. He was truly a precious gift from God. He taught us compassion, peace, kindness, strength, love, and the importance of living each day to the fullest. Without the ability to communicate with a spoken word, to actually see those that loved him, to walk with us, to hug family and friends, to care for himself, or to do all the things most of us take for granted, he unquestionably showed us all those wonderful qualities and helped us to be better people. His smile and mischievous grin were infectious and could melt the hearts of all. Rockie, aka Rockman, Rock-Rock, Rockstar, from the moment he became part of our lives, was a blessing to all that knew him and to the many strangers that would interact and speak with him. We thank you Jesus for allowing us the time we had with him and the joy he provided us in our lives. We know Rockie is now in heaven walking, running, playing, talking, singing and seeing for the first time.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

Thank you, Rockie for being our strength. You experienced extreme hardship as an infant, but you persevered and lived for much more time than was ever expected, and you took the love bestowed upon you and were a tremendous blessing for many others. Prophetically, with only a slight change in spelling, we kept the given name you had when you came to be part of our family and our lives, and like the Rocky of the movie you were a determined fighter, one of the strongest people we have ever known, winning battles that could only be described as God’s miracles, never giving up, until God decided your purpose on this earth was well done and called you home to be with him in heaven.

Rockie was extraordinary, indescribable, and unpredictable! He loved his many “noise making” musical toys and his large collection of stuffed animals. You have left a permanent impression/mark on our hearts. Those who were lucky enough to have known you, have been left with hearts so much fuller, richer and with a ray of sunshine! We look forward to the day we see you again in heaven, completely healed.

Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so you may overflow with hope by the power of the holy spirit”

“The lord never makes mistakes and knows every one of his children. Follow his Commandments, pray, show your love to Him, and soak in every moment where you witness God’s enduring love”

First Corinthians 9:22 “To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.”

Rockie’s life showed we never know God’s plan we should just trust and have that faith in the plan he has for each of us. God made no mistake with Rockie and he knew well this child of his, he may have seemed weak, may the example of his life lead many to trust in Christ and be saved.

In Rockies early years, Rockie attended Zion Baptist Church in GA where he was deeply loved and cared for by the church family. Rockie attended Theresa Baptist Church in Roxboro, when his health allowed him to.
