Sandra Orelia (Harris) Bowes

SANDRA HARRIS BOWES, age 76, of 922 Woody’s Store Road, Roxboro, NC, died Monday morning, September 19, 2022 at Duke University Hospital.

Mrs. Bowes was born April 23, 1946 in Person County, NC daughter of the late Charles Howard & Lucy Neil Harris and was wife of 55 years to Ronnie R. Bowes who survives. She was a homemaker and was a member of Alton Baptist Church.

Sandra enjoyed reading, vegetable gardening, cooking, and being Rema to her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two children, Tracy Bowes Moseley & husband, Charles of Zebulon, NC, Ronald Keith “Skeeter” Bowes of Roxboro, NC, three grandchildren, Davis P. Mosley, Darby P. Mosley, Maris E. Bowes, two sisters, Dale Harris Whitlow & husband, Clarence of Alton, VA, Catherine H. Anderson of Greenville, NC, and brother, Huel Harris Howerton & wife, Dorothy who was like a sister to Sandra of Roxboro, NC.  

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowes is preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Bowes-McCoy, three sisters, Janice Harris Terry, Shelby Jean Clayton, Carolyn Laity Foushee, two brothers, Charles Glenn Harris, and Howard B. Harris.  

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022 in the Bethel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Tim Bowes officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests at the home. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Bowes, Timothy Hahn, Derrick Harris, Justin Harris, Carroll Brent Howerton, and Chris Howerton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Bethel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 201 Old US Hwy. 501, Roxboro, NC 27574.
