Sharon Ann (Loftis) Rice

SHARON ANN LOFTIS RICE, age 65, of 257 Somerset Drive, Roxboro, NC died Friday night, February 26, 2021 at Duke Regional Hospital.

Ms. Rice was born November 15, 1955 in Halifax County, VA, daughter of the late Henry Hover Loftis, Sr. & Barbara Jean Oakley Loftis who survives.  She was retired from Duke University Health System, and was a member of North Fork Baptist Church.  Ms. Rice enjoyed softball, cooking, reading, sudoku puzzles, watching soap operas, working, traveling, and spending time with her family. 

Surviving in addition to her mother are two sons, William Lynn Rice, Jr. of Poulsbo, WA, Henry Doyle Rice of Roxboro, NC, two sisters, Wanda L. Jones & husband, Chuck of Roxboro, NC, Rhonda L. Bowen & husband, Donnie of Virgilina, VA, brother, Henry H. Loftis, Jr. & wife, Starr of Roxboro, NC, two grandsons, William Logan Rice, Bradey Alexander Rice, companion of 22 years, Roy Elvin Riley, Jr. and his mother, Shelby Jean Riley, three step-children, Ron Riley & wife, Laura of Stem, NC, Jennifer Goss of Oxford, NC, Christa Riley of Raleigh, NC, four step-grandchildren, Aiden Goss, Khloey Goss, Cannon Riley, Luna Riley, and a host of nieces & nephews. 

In addition to her father Ms. Rice is preceded in death by the father of her children, William Lynn Rice, Sr., and her companion’s father, Roy Elvin Riley, Sr.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2021 in the Oakley Family Cemetery with the Rev. Chris Talley officiating.
