Charlie R. Overby, Jr.

CHARLIE R. OVERBY, JR. age 52, of 130 Lima Lane, Roxboro, NC died Thursday afternoon, October 21, 2021 at Duke Regional Hospital.

Mr. Overby was born March 20, 1969 in Radford, Virginia, son of the late Charlie Roosevelt Overby, Sr. & Mary Elizabeth Wilburn Smith who survives.  He was a handyman and was of the Baptist faith.

Charlie enjoyed listening to music and writing poetry. 

Surviving in addition to his mother are a brother, Chris Overby of Savannah, GA, sister, Melinda Overby of Roxboro, NC, two nephews, Dallas Overby, Matthew Overby, niece, Victoria Rodriguez, great nephew, Greyson Rodriguez, great niece, Karmyn Rodriguez, adopted sisters, Betty Gonzalez, Tracey Campbell, adopted nieces, Lily Campbell, Aliyah Powell, adopted nephew, Kaiden Cates, and beloved dog, Juliette Overby.

In addition to his father Mr. Overby is preceded in death by a nephew, Austin Rimmer.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in the Person Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Mike Whitt officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests anytime at the home.

Pallbearers will be J.R. Campbell, Dr. James Gentry, D.L. Oliver, Donald Oliver, Kendall Rodriguez, and Donnie Jo Thaxton.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tracey Campbell, Betty Gonzalez, Trisha Hailey, Christy Oliver, Debra Oliver, Bobbie Jean Parker, Marie Thaxton, and Judy Vaughn.
