Patrick "Pat" Sterling Cozart

PATRICK STERLING “PAT” COZART age 87, of 810 Frank Street, Roxboro, NC died Thursday night, November 11, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Cozart was born March 9, 1934 in Person County, NC, son of the late Jake Howard & Annie Lee Morris Cozart and was husband of 62 years to Sally Betty Compton Cozart.  He was retired from Collins & Aikman Corp. after 42 years of service, was a member of Ca-vel Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the US Army. 

Pat enjoyed gardening, watching old westerns, talking on the phone, spending time with his family, and was an avid Carolina fan. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Keith Cozart & wife, Tammy, Joey Cozart & wife, Susan all of Roxboro, NC, Sherry McKee & husband, Mark of Hillsborough, NC, four grandchildren, Ashley Bass & husband, Tim, Nicole Reid & husband, Craig, Darren McKee & wife, Kaitlyn, Erik McKee & wife, Katie, seven great grandchildren, Cameron, Shay, Cooper, and Landyn McKee, Charlie and Annie Bass, Ruth Reid, sister, Patricia Kimbrell of Henderson, NC, and grand dog, Tootie.

In addition to his parents Mr. Cozart is preceded in death by five sisters, Eleanor Savin, Delma Knott, Pearlie Carver, Janie Blaylock, and Thelma Chandler.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Ca-vel Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Long and the Rev. Kevin Gift officiating.  Interment will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. 

Pallbearers will be Yogi Blaylock, Ricky Chandler, David Newell, Jay Kimbrell, Randy Knott, and Charles Strange.  Honorary pallbearers will be Franklin Edwards, T.C. Stanford, and the Ca-vel Men’s Sunday School Class.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to Ca-vel Baptist Church, 1885 North Main Street, Roxboro, NC 27573.
